Is being “selfish” such a bad thing? We certainly seem to have a bias against “being selfish” in our society, despite our extremes of individualism. Would it be better if we were all “selfless” instead? Let’s explore...
I pulled a card from The Starseed Oracle to help me intuit a theme for the year (back in 2020) - and I got the card called “Water Your Garden”.
This is a year of renewal - a time for us to tend our own gardens (instead of stressing about the state of the entire world).
When we look at the world and perceive mainly chaos, it’s a sign that our inner landscape is also in turmoil.
The world is full of mirrors and holograms … and often, we’re busy being angry or afraid about what we see, so we miss the messages that resonate, deep in our psyche.
We dismiss our intuitive gifts and longings because we’ve been taught to honor the holograms and ignore our animal-body, bone-knowing, primal awareness.
Our heart and intuition give us a plethora of information every day, and we stoutly ignore almost every bit of it so that we may “be reasonable” or “do what we’re told”.
We’ve become so afraid of being called ‘selfish’ that we scarcely even know what we want anymore.
Once we are able to follow the threads of our inner desire, our hopes, our joy and our delight … we open up wide, boundless paths filled with potential - and it all starts with being radical enough to prioritize ourselves.
