roller skates at the grocery store? unschooling and saying YES more often

My 9 year old wanted to wear his roller skates to the grocery store yesterday. Well, they're his sister's outgrown skates.

I have not had a chance to replace his yet, and he didn't care much until his 17 year old sister decided to wear her skates and do loops around our kitchen.

The plan was to go to the park with skates/scooters/basketball...but it rained - and we were out of coffee creamer.

So he asked if it was okay to wear his skates to the local grocery store…

And I thought, what will happen if I say YES?
