I've written before about how there seem to be not nearly as many older kids who are still unschooling, as there are newbies and elementary-age kids.
However, for those with kids who are approaching 15 and older, they’ll likely be interested in things like driving permits, volunteering or first jobs, getting a bank account and debit card … and for these sorts of things, paperwork may be required.
Getting a driving permit and bank account may require you to show proof of school enrollment.
This is accomplished easily enough by creating your own transcript.
When my son decided he wanted to go to college this year, I had to supply transcripts for all four years of high school.
As an unschooler, a lot of what we do doesn't look like traditional schoolwork, and it's also not divided up into traditional subjects.
This makes it more challenging to categorize and translate into ‘school-speak’ so it can be added to official documents that make sense to academic minds!
